We have a big Problem!
Obesity is the No.1 Health Issue in our nation today.
People are eating more "non-fat" and "low-fat
foods.
Exercise equipment sales are still up. (Didn't say
it was being used!)
Why all the weight gain?
The foods we are eating are short-changing our bodies.
We are victims of food industry advertising.
Fast food chains are on every corner!
How do we permanently stop this problem?
Diets Don't Work!
Dieting isn't the answer. Dieting, as the latest
research confirms, sends all the wrong chemical signals between
the brain and the body. The result is inevitable. You can take it
off, but you will put it back on.
Half of what you lose in a "conventional"
diet is muscle tissue-not fat. So when your brain orders your body
to regain weight, all that it adds is fat. And because the lost
muscle was up to 70 times more "chemically active" than
fat tissue, your metabolic rate goes down, making it even harder
to lose weight in the future.
In short, dieting makes you fat.
It seems the only people helped by diets are the
people pushing them! So, throw away the books, stop counting the
calories and stop torturing yourself is the message we are going
to get out to the world!

61% of Americans overweight, latest health survey
finds By Nanci Hellmich USA TODAY
An estimated 61% of Americans are Overweight or obese, up from 56%
in the early 1990s, according to Preliminary results of a new government
survey just out.
One big jump: the percentage of adults who are obese.
Now, 27% of the population is obese compared with 23% in the early
1990s and 15% in the late 1970s.

Let's chat a minute about Cells.
All 75 trillion cells, which make up the body, live
Together and interact (perfectly) in a complex social Order. Cells
are organized into over 200 different Functional structures or "families"
known best as:
Red blood cells
White blood cells
Bones
Organs
Connective tissue
Each "family" has it's work to do in keeping the Internal
environment correct. As long as healthy Conditions are maintained,
all "families" will continue to live and function properly.
Moderate dysfunction leads to illness and extreme dysfunction can
progress even to death.
We need to understand what our cells need:
Cells need food.
All cells need the proper nutrients to keep them
health. If your cells could go shopping, what would they buy?? I
don't think it would be Pizza and Doritos!
Cells need water.
All cells depend on extra-cellular fluid for transport
of oxygen and nutrients IN, and the carrying of waste by-products
OUT. Again, if the cells went looking for this at the store, it
would not be Diet Coke or Pepsi!
Pure water is a basic necessity for the healthy
functioning of the immune system, and the healthy functioning of
the entire body.
Cells need exercise.
We are pre-occupied with body image, and rarely
give thought that our 75 trillion cells need exercise! Be aware
that too-strenuous exercise can actually destroy millions of cells.
Be sensible; get some exercise.
Cells communicate.
We only pay attention when cellular communication
makes us feel hungry, sleepy or hurt, but there is more being "said"
than that. Be aware and learn to interpret your body's language.
